The next step is installing the base aluminum plank, thereby establishing the "dry side" orientation of the IFCW™. The base plank is fully sealed on the bottom where the horizontal "dry side" mating surface and the vertical parting support dry side flange come together. When installed, the bottom plank has a "snug fit" preset.

After subsequent planks are stacked into place, the slotted vertical locking angles are pulled down into set position. This pulling action forces the plank face into tight contact with the vertical seal.

There are seals on both the plank and the vertical parting support that form a perfect seal when tightened.

Rising floodwater fill the planks, adding additional pressure and integrity to this contact point.
