harmony with nature

The story of the Invisible Flood Control Wall began in the 1980's in Germany. The city fathers of Cologne were looking for a sensible solution to the periodic flooding of the Rhine River, which flows through the heart of the city. The river is usually slow and placid, providing a lovely backdrop to the historic buildings perched along its banks. However, when the waters would rise with the storms, flooding was inevitable. Not wanting to build an unsitely concrete wall that would permanently obscure the views of the river, they turned to industry for ideas.

After ten years of development, evaluation and refinement, the IFCW (known in Germany at the DPS 2000) was chosen to protect the city. The Invisible Flood Control Wall is only erected when a flood threatens, leaving the views unobscured for the vast majority of the time that the river is flowing at a normal rate.

Subsequently, Flood Control America has brought the IFCW to America by way of an exclusive licensing agreement, whereby upon presentation to the United States Corps of Engineers (USACOE), "the grandfather of American flood-control," it was determined to fit all USACOE design criteria for flood control walls.

Now, cities in the United States have the opportunity to provide "invisible" flood protection to their citizens, ensuring safety and averting disaster while affording the city with FCA's guiding principal: Harmony With Nature.

REMEMBER, you and your city are important and have a say in the selection of what type of flood control protection is installed for you, a choice that you and your citizens will have to live with forever after. Choose carefully and wisely. Choose the Invisible Flood Control Wall.
